Our community is home to the Mi’kmaq people, who have thrived in this region for countless generations.
Potlotek First Nation, nestled on Chapel Island in Richmond County, Nova Scotia, holds deep cultural and spiritual significance for the Mi’kmaq people. Situated near the shores of the Bras d’Or Lakes, this community is known for its close connection to both land and water, emphasizing traditional practices such as fishing and respecting the environment.
